White Fang
by Jack London
Great book about a half-dog half-wolf's journey. It starts with his parents and them killing and trapping a group of dags and their people. It then leads into the birth of White Fang. He ends up wandering away from the cave and into an Indian camp where he meets his first owner, Gray Beaver. White Fang lives with the Native Americans for a while before getting sold to a fighting ring. He grows aggressive here and losses his trust for humans. Later a man named Weedon Scott saves White Fang and earns not only his trust but his love. Scott moves to San Francisco and takes White Fang with him to live on a farm. They go through some tough times but in the end White Fang learns his lessons. He ends up having pups of his own with a Collie, one of the masters dogs.
